My brother had a motor cycle crash late Monday night. He called an briefly talked to my Dad to tell him about it. Nathan had a concussion, and Dad's IQ level drops thirty points until about an hour after he wakes up. Anyways, the call-back number was bungled. We didn't know where he was or if he had gotten medical attention. This resulted in large amounts of calling friends in the Pheonix-Prescott area. The friends called hospitals in the area trying to locate him. We ended up finding him late Tuesday morning.
There is nothing worse in life than knowing that your brother is hurt, but have no idea where he is or if he needs help.
It was a head on collision with a truck. The motorcyle is in five pieces. He has a femur break and is recovering from a concussion. He was wearing his helmet and leathers. He is definately lucky to be alive. The pain medication is doing some weird things to his speech so it is kinda funky to talk to him.
One of the teachers at the high school is beign forced to go to the middle school to replace a retiring teacher. She hasn't lost her job, but she feels betrayed and angry. Lots of other things are going on in her life, like a divorce, a crazy ex, and buying a house. She doesn't need this.
Finally, my father lost his job on Friday. He's been with the company since I've been a freshman in high school.
Friday night I had dinner and hung out with some college friends. The dinner was free and great, but when we were at their home, it turned into a "Roast Liz" party. They pretty much laughed at all my weirdness. Normally, I'm okay with it--- after all, I am pretty wierd. But that night I needed some comfort and sympathy not the opposite.
Thursday I'll be flying to Pheonix via Minnesota to visit my brother and see him graduate. I'll see my mother on mother's day---which just happens to be my birthday.
