1.5 days left

I'm super stoked!
Ready for the summer to begin. Friday I'm traveling to visit the fam in KS and to see my brother. I'll be back to help a friend move, and the two week long summer camps start. I'm kinda looking forward to going back to school a bit. Real Summer with plenty of free time starts mid-June and lasts a looong time. Maybe a week trip to Portland---possibly?! Could be fun!

Plus this summer I don't have to do any masters degree work... so July is super happy!
Can't wait to just read outisde for a day!

Rock on

There is something to be said for listening to Rock music late at night. Maybe this is why I loved college so much. Loud music, books I loved, and fewer consequences for sleeping in until 12pm.

Ahh.... I feel so totally rested right now, it's great.

Getting close

Wellup, we are close tot he end of school. Finals start this next Friday. Then we are offically done. Really we are done before the students are. All we have to is get them ready for finals. Then while they take the tests, it is cleaning up the rooom, etc.

I found out today that I'm not teaching Physical Science or Earth and Space Science. This is a little frustrating because I've worked really hard on those classes. I've developed a pretty good curriculum with power points, tests entered on clicker software, labs. Additionally, I signed up for three summer workshops spanning a week each on topics related to what I taught this year. I'll still go to the workshops because they offer college credit, but they certainly are not as relevant as they could have been.

Instead I'm teaching Biology and Applied Biology. I even have a class within a class. I have a special education teacher in the room and half of the kids are really low Sped. This will be really hard. Plus, I'll have all the ruffians that I had this year. At least I will know them and have a relationship with them now.

So next year will be a little more work than planned, I was hoping it would get easier.

I went to Arizona to see my brother graduate. It was so beautiful and It seemed much more likely that there would be more adventures there than here. If my brother becomes a permanent resident there with his girlfriend, I might think about moving there. I would have no issue finding a job, and there would be a higher chance of young men more to my liking. It is definately something to think about.

It has been a difficult week

My brother had a motor cycle crash late Monday night. He called an briefly talked to my Dad to tell him about it. Nathan had a concussion, and Dad's IQ level drops thirty points until about an hour after he wakes up. Anyways, the call-back number was bungled. We didn't know where he was or if he had gotten medical attention. This resulted in large amounts of calling friends in the Pheonix-Prescott area. The friends called hospitals in the area trying to locate him. We ended up finding him late Tuesday morning.

There is nothing worse in life than knowing that your brother is hurt, but have no idea where he is or if he needs help.

It was a head on collision with a truck. The motorcyle is in five pieces. He has a femur break and is recovering from a concussion. He was wearing his helmet and leathers. He is definately lucky to be alive. The pain medication is doing some weird things to his speech so it is kinda funky to talk to him.

One of the teachers at the high school is beign forced to go to the middle school to replace a retiring teacher. She hasn't lost her job, but she feels betrayed and angry. Lots of other things are going on in her life, like a divorce, a crazy ex, and buying a house. She doesn't need this.

Finally, my father lost his job on Friday. He's been with the company since I've been a freshman in high school.

Friday night I had dinner and hung out with some college friends. The dinner was free and great, but when we were at their home, it turned into a "Roast Liz" party. They pretty much laughed at all my weirdness. Normally, I'm okay with it--- after all, I am pretty wierd. But that night I needed some comfort and sympathy not the opposite.

Thursday I'll be flying to Pheonix via Minnesota to visit my brother and see him graduate. I'll see my mother on mother's day---which just happens to be my birthday.
