Weekends Past

Last weekend was rough. I sponsored prom and then judged NFA Sunday. This meant that I didn't go to sleep Saturday night. I usede to do this all the time for college when I worked as a night monitor. I still have it, but this week was pretty difficult be cause I was so sleep deprived. I really didn't have much of a weekend because before Saturday, I had to get all of my grading done, etc. To not be swamped the following Monday. The count down begins, and things are certainly winding down. I'm looking forward to going to a cardinals game in may. Last year I had already gone to three so far!

the sprint to the finish

April 24th is our last mid-term grade. May 28th is the last day of finals.
Then FREE! I'll spend a week at home and then two weeks back to back at conferences. I think I can hold out untill then. I know my kids almost too well now, and I'm ready for a fresh batch and to try a few new things on them.
I'll have my curriculum all ironed out and then they'll change it again... :)

What a great weekend!

Three hour conversation and root beer floats with some friends Friday night.
Slept in Saturday, walked around Forest Park with some other friends and went to the zoo. Had a large Dr. Pepper and a dipped icecream cone. Drove home and had a night on the town in Washington, including bar hopping, live band listening and flirting.
Slept in on Sunday, cleaned house, went for a walk and read.
Then went to a plam Sunday Service and cooked for a friend and her little girls. I then taught the little girls how to do their nails. (I would have never guessed I would have had fun doing THAT.)
AHHHH!

Eight pounds of cookie dough later...

I'm a sucker for charities. When the tax rebates came in everyone started calling me. $200 dollars later and I'm supporting the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Firefighters league, the deputy Sheriff's department, the World Wildlife Fund, Missing and Expoilted Children, Ranger Rick etc. I had to call it stops.

I'm exactly the person that callers want on the line, I have temporarily have money b/c of taxes and can be guilted and have sympathy for almost any cause.

This is also how I ended up with thirteen boxes of girl scout cookies and eight pounds of cookie dough to support Prom. And Cardinals tickets. (Actually, I'm pretty excited about the cardinals tickets...it is Pujols figurine night!)

This is proabaly a good thing overall, but certainly not for my waistline!
