My chinchillas are simply doted on. the have treats, they have toys and now the have a fleece hammock courtesy of me.
I originally saw the hammocks on the forum Chins and Quills and was going to buy a double one for fourteen dollars. But I looked at them closely and decided that I could probably reproduce them.
$7 dollars of fleece, needle and thread later my chins are cozying up around neon dots with a black background.
It was ve3ry enjoyable to sew the thing, and a great way to deal with stress. I think I'll be sewing a lot this summer with my free time.

Gizzard used his fleece cup as a potty which was actually sort of convenient cos it made him basically potty trained. He also ate part of his hammock this weekend. It was adorable though. He ate one of the four strings that clips it to the cage. Then he climbed in it and had this look on his face like he'd just realized what he'd done so he climbed in and out a few times in defiance as though to say "i like it this way." he likes his treats and chew sticks and things though. I want to get him one of those edible couches. it's right up his little ornery alley.
Ornery is a good way to describe them. Mine are escape artists....but cute enough to make up for the half hour I spent trying to catch them when they get out of their room.
