Le Employment Drama Lama comes to visit

So, yeah....
I've decided that it is very unlikely that the school board members of the district that I work for read my blog. I'm pretty sure that the principal of the high school has better things to do.
With that in mind:

Gah! **HS has failed to hire me as a teacher. Which means I will be searching for a job next year. It all started when I was called to the principals office and asked for a letter of resignation on his desk at the end of the day. He very kindly explained that since I was an intern, I needed to resign from my internship position so the position could be open for next year, for me or some one else to be hired to as a teacher of record. He encouraged me to to get my application in before spring break. (This is the Thursday before) okay... not as big a deal as it seemed. Pretty shocking to be told that and it shook me a little, but it makes sense and I was hopeful I would be hired as a teacher of record at **HS next year.

Turns out that the district interviewed and hired everyone before my application was even completed. The deadline for the application that was posted was in May.

Turned out that two of the positions filled were the principals' friend and the husband of a teacher who had been working there for years. (Speculation ONLY!) Don't look at me, I heard it in the teacher's lounge!

I was really looking forward to not having to move next year. I was looking forward to knowing the ropes a little bit. I was looking forward to settling down.

Now I have to deal with the same question that I had to answer from last year. Where do I wasnt to work? Do I want to go back to Kansas? Do I want to be employed at a big school district or a small one?

I feel sad becasue I was looking forward to watching my students grow up. Some of them are lookign forward to having me as a teacher next year. I like my colleagues.

I'm not looking forward to having to acclimate myself to a new town, apratement, school, and curriculum.

But that's life, and your role with the punches.

But boy howdy, tenadcity better freakin' win a fight!

I'm sorry :( I vote for kansas but I'm a little biased. Seriously, I hope something opens up, here or there, that feels like a right fit. I'm pulling for you.
